This module provides an overview of the open, supportive and safe placement environments for Deakin students in the faculty of Heath. The majority of Deakin students undertake placement in Victoria, therefore Victorian state legislation is referenced. In these sections, please refer to the relevant legislation in your area.
Topic 1 Safety on placement includes an overview of legislation, psychological safety, and how safety can mean different things to different people.
Topic 2 Equity and diversity on placement includes some perspectives on disability, diversity and how to promote inclusive work integrated learning.
Topic 3 Cultural safety for students and supervisors covers Accreditation definitions, Deakin values and provides further resources to support your culturally safe practice
Topic 4 Mental Health and wellbeing provides tips to support students, yourself and your team throughout placements.
This module will take approx 60-70 Minutes to complete.
